Getting depressed by depressions: Monitoring greenhouse gases hotspots- flooded depressions from space.
In Denmark, there are numerous flooded low-lying areas, AKA depressions, in the fields. Recently, we found out these depressions will emit around 50 times more N2O than the dry upland. So, in this work, we will use remote sensing (satellite) to monitor the GHGs hotspots- flooded depressions in Denmark.

Impact of Wheel Traffic-Induced Soil Compaction on N₂O Emissions and Soil Physical Properties under Different Tillage systems.
This poster shows that wheel-track compaction substantially increased nitrous oxide (N₂O) emissions across different tillage systems. Soil compaction reduced soil aeration by decreasing air-filled pore space, air permeability, and gas diffusivity, creating conditions that favor microbial N₂O production. These findings highlight the importance of managing wheel traffic and soil compaction to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural soils.

Reduction of nitrogen losses from dairy cattle production.
My poster presents results from a dairy cow feeding study investigating whether dietary crude protein supply can be reduced without compromising milk production. By comparing different levels of crude protein supply, the study explores how feeding strategies can improve nitrogen use efficiency and potentially reduce nitrogen losses from dairy production while maintaining cow performance.

Component based structural design of modular buildings towards circular construction.
How can modular timber buildings be designed to be reused, adapted, and disassembled more effectively? This work explores a component-based approach to structural design, why such an approach is needed, and how it can support more circular construction. It investigates how structural components can be analyzed, documented, and combined within a hierarchical framework, enabling more efficient and flexible structural verification

Color calibration of field photography for quantitative analysis of glacier and ice sheet surface darkening.
Field photography is routinely collected during fieldwork. We developed and tested a desktop toolbox that calibrates RAW imagery to enable quantitative assessment of glacier and ice sheet surface darkening. The software and workflow are broadly applicable and can also be adapted for use in other research areas.

From single pixels to chemical mapping: Studying colloidal dynamics in complex food matrices.
This presentation will introduce Raman microscopy and its promising applications in studying colloidal dynamics in complex food matrices. Using hyperspectral imaging, individual components can be identified and spatially localized, providing new insights into the interactions between food ingredients, while supporting the development of plant-based alternatives.

Breeding goal of starch potatoes in Denmark
Potatoes are autotetraploid, which results in greater genetic segregation than in many other plant species. Consequently, the offspring of a potato cross can vary considerably, requiring the evaluation of many clones. Selection decisions need to comprise many traits. The goal of this research study is to develop a tool for more efficient and better selection of starch potatoes.

TECH SUMMER HANGOUT is a day dedicated to taking a break, having fun, and spending time with your colleagues. You’ll have the opportunity to create your own experience – move between different activities, dive into something new, get inspired, or simply lean back and enjoy the atmosphere in the sun with a cold beer or a cup of coffee.
The event takes place in and around Navitas in Aarhus.

Participation in TECH SUMMER HANGOUT is free of charge. In the week leading up to the event, you will receive a text message with a link to your personal ticket.
Your ticket includes 4 drink tickets, 1 meal ticket, 1 cake ticket, and 1 ice cream ticket.
If you’re still feeling thirsty after using your tickets, you can purchase additional beverages via MobilePay.
Prices are listed at the bar.
BASECAMP is the area where you and your colleagues can relax, eat, and drink.

Water stations will be available on site, so remember to bring your water bottle from last year!
If you arrive by car, a limited number of parking spaces will be available under Navitas, which you can use at your own expense.
There is no dress code for this event. However, as Danish weather can be unpredictable, it’s a good idea to bring a backpack with sunscreen, a rain jacket, and perhaps a blanket to sit on. Please note that there will be no lockers or cloakroom facilities available.
Portable toilets are located at the rear of Navitas – simply follow the signs. Accessible toilets are available via the main entrance.
It will not be possible to enter the Navitas building. The event takes place outdoors.
